This nonprofit began with a vision from Dr. Olivia James BVSc (Hons), MANZCVS (Equine Dentistry), CMAVA, DICEVO, DAVDC (Equine) – a veterinarian who has spent her career improving the lives of horses and the people who care for them.
Through years of practice, Dr. James has witnessed two recurring challenges across the world:
- Horse owners want to do the right thing for their horses, but access to reliable education on equine health, nutrition, dentistry, and common emergencies like colic or laminitis is limited.”
- Equine veterinarians in remote or rural areas often work in isolation, with limited peer support and fewer opportunities for continuing education.
Our nonprofit was created to bridge both gaps.
What began as one veterinarian’s idea has grown into a global network of more than 9,000 equine veterinarians across 100+ countries, collectively reaching millions of horse owners. Together, we share knowledge, reduce professional isolation, and build stronger partnerships between vets and horse owners.
We are not here to replace the vital role of veterinarians. Instead, we aim to bring vets and owners closer together – so horses receive better care, communication improves, and welfare outcomes rise worldwide.
This is our story. But it’s also yours. Whether you are a horse owner, a veterinarian, or simply someone who loves horses, you are part of this mission. Together, we are improving horse welfare worldwide.

Kristie Morris
Dip Ag, Cert III EqN
Kristie’s journey with horses began at the age of 12, and by 15 she had purchased her first horse. Soon after, she joined the Walker family at Marena Stud, where she spent 18 years gaining hands-on experience in stud operations, riding academies, and competition. During her time at the stud, Kristie met Dr. Jennifer Stewart, with whom she later worked for eight years in veterinary clinical nutrition.
With a Diploma in Agriculture and a Certificate III in Equine Nursing, Kristie brings a strong foundation in animal nutrition and veterinary support. Her shared passion for equine science and education led to her collaboration with Dr. Olivia James, where she continues to advocate for advancing equine care worldwide.
As an advisor, Kristie is committed to supporting both horse owners and veterinarians through education, welfare initiatives, and knowledge-sharing. She is an active participant in veterinary conferences and seminars, always looking for ways to improve the well-being of both horses and the professionals who care for them.
At home in mid-coast New South Wales, Australia, Kristie manages a mixed farm with Belted Galloway cattle, Suffolk sheep, and a thriving vegetable garden – bringing the same dedication to her animals and land as she does to her professional work.
